Mission Statement

Following from Rinnai’s people-oriented outlook, the Corporation seeks to create comfortable indoor environments that are more pleasant, more relaxed and worry free, achieved through the safe and efficient use of heat. The precise nature of our customers’ needs change with the times, and our gas appliances keep pace with these changes, becoming safer, more convenient, smaller and more lightweight. Rinnai’s commitment to innovation ensures that its products make full use of advances in technology. However, change is not made for the sake of change.

Chairman of the Board
Susumu Naito

Our primary goal is the fulfilment of our customers’ needs by making their daily lives more convenient. The three major uses of gas in the domestic environment are for cooking, heating water, and gas fan heaters, which together form what we call the “artery” industry.

Rinnai offers a diverse range of products in this sector, from kitchen appliances, such as rice cookers and gas cooking ranges, to hot-water units, heaters and air-conditioners. Our secondary market segment, dubbed the “vein” industry, consists of dishwashing machines and clothes dryers. In recent years, Rinnai has committed resources to developing high-value-added products, its gas appliances rapidly becoming more sophisticated as they incorporate information technology (IT).

Our research and development (R&D) efforts continue to address two concerns that are prevalent in the domestic market: the graying of Japanese society and the relationship between people and the natural environment. We are constantly looking for new ways to apply environment-friendly technologies in the design of clean, easy-to-use products. Work is progressing on energy-saving combustion control technologies as well as combustion technology, including the use of ceramic burners, to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Since its foundation, however, Rinnai’s foremost concern - and the focus of its R&D - has been safety. In the latest developments, Rinnai is incorporating electronic control technologies such as electronic sensors into its designs.

Our goal is to serve as a bridge between energy and the home. As we progressively restructure and upgrade our operations, the aim is to promote safety and to foster lifestyles that are more comfortable, as befits the 21st century. Issues relevant to today’s society - such as environment preservation, energy conservation and healthcare - influence our growth. The corporate philosophy influences not only our R&D and product technologies, but also our sales operations and financial base.
