Global Operations

Adapting to Succeed

Rinnai’s first overseas subsidiary was established 30 years ago in Taiwan. As of September 2001, our overseas network consisted of nine manufacturing and marketing operations and six sales offices in 14 countries.

A key to the success of our overseas business is our commitment to tailor our operations to suit each market. The industry segment may be gas appliances, but the actual form and performance of our equipment is strongly influenced by geographic and demographic factors. In making business decisions, the Corporation takes into account features of the climate and land as well as national lifestyle characteristics and the infrastructure of each market.

In developing its presence, the Corporation’s production and sales operations are influenced by close consideration of local preference for cooking, warming interior spaces, and heating and supplying hot water. Rinnai’s basic policy is to contribute to each country’s unique food and residential culture. In many instances, this means making co-operation with local companies a priority. As a result, both exports and local sales by overseas subsidiaries contribute increasingly higher amounts to consolidate revenues.

Significant Market Share

Rinnai’s mainstay products in Europe are heating and hot-water units, while in Asia kitchen appliances and hot-water units are the strongest sellers. Rinnai Korea has grown into that nation’s leading gas appliance manufacturer, holding a high and stable share of the kitchen appliance market, encompassing both Western-style tabletop ranges and ondoru traditional Korean heaters. Similarly, by focusing clearly on the requirements of the local market, Shanghai Rinnai, which was established in 1993, has succeeded in rapidly increasing its share of the local hot-water unit market.

Rinnai Korea

Throughout the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, where mutually beneficial economic activities continue to develop, Rinnai is firmly establishing its position as the leading company of gas appliances. Elsewhere, our tabletop ranges have a strong reputation in Vietnam, while Rinnai Australia is building on the strength of its heating unit sales by extending marketing activities related to hot water units. In the United States and Europe, which both have a well-developed gas appliance market, Rinnai concentrates its activities on its mainstay heating units and on confirming Rinnai’s reputation as a leading gas appliance manufacturer.
