The Rinnai condensing 24e Infinity
Continuous Flow Water Heater is the only
instantaneous, non-storage water heating
system available in the UK that can attain
efficiencies high enough to condense the
flue gases.
The condensing 24e will provide over 700
litres of hot water per hour raised 50°C
while achieving a net efficiency of 106%.
Due to a dc, low voltage, fully modulating,
combustion fan that always ensures the
correct ratio of gas to air the efficiency level
is an almost perfect flat line between high
fire at 42kW heat output down to the
minimum heat output level of 4.1kW.
As the unit is an on demand style water
heater the yearly efficiency is approaching
the instantaneous efficiency level as it is
always heating cold water, and there are no
reheat periods required to make up for
standing losses.
The unit is composed of Rinnai’s special rich
and lean burner with a copper primary heat
exchanger and a stainless steel secondary
heat exchanger for condensing. The control
system uses four level of modulation
including a four-stepped burner, full gas rate
modulation, bypass water flow control
valve, and heat exchanger water flow valve,
to give outlet temperature accuracy within
1°C of the chosen set point.
The condensing 24e Infinity can be used in
manifolded banks of water heaters.
The units are externally mounted with no
flue required and feature built in frost
protection to -40°C. The condensing 24e
has no temperature sensitive internal parts
meaning that hot water can be returned to
it. This is especially useful for secondary
returns in commercial buildings.
